Familiar settings

My works mainly take form as objects, installations and architectural interventions. When working with objects and installations, I seek to establish a situation where the viewer will experience an immediately recognition. That is either by producing works thus they have character as the everyday and industrially manufactured objects we are surrounded by or simply by using prefabricated objects.
With the use of architectural interventions, I shift the space in a way that will limit the movement of the viewer or make the viewer aware of his/her own presence.

With simple and various manipulations in my work, the well-known and recognizable is taken out of its permanent nature and hereby revolve around questions concerning the individualized being. I focus on how we navigate and establish ourselves as individuals, how we take positions and how we act in relation to the space that surrounds us.

In a played down fashion, the works imply questions upon how we use objects as components in the organization of our lives. For example how do furniture and clothing act as essential elements within lifestyle management? In relation to this, the following notion is broad into consideration; what do we regard as valuable versus worthless juxtaposed with ideas about the functional and the dysfunctional?
The normative is made unstable and thus, the scene is set for a review of familiar ideas.
